Congratulations Reveille...

The production company where I started working this past summer is now this juggernaut, for lack of a better term. It's huge. They know how to mint money over there...well...mint money and then not spend it on programming (but that's besides the point).

Leading U.K shingle Shine, run by Elisabeth Murdoch, has confirmed the acquisition of U.S. producer Reveille is in the bag...

...As a result of the purchase, Reveille’s distribution arm will be re-branded as Shine Reveille.

The acquisition of Reveille makes Shine, whose investors include Sony, uniquely placed to extend its activities in the U.S.

Elisabeth Murdoch
...yes daughter of Rupert Murdoch...and apparently a screwed businesswoman. I am so jealous of her and the gumption she seems to have.

Another jem...ok really...I'm going to work on this paper now...

Here's one more ...and then seriously, I'm going to work on this paper. Really.

Bob Saget + Conan O'Brian + San Francisco = procrastination

This is great...you've got to watch it.

Conan out on the street is just the funniest thing ever. He's in his element. I was never a huge fan of his monologues...mainly because he sways so much and I get seasick watching him. But this is what he should do instead of monologues...in my opinion. ;)

enjoy another you tube goody.

Zach Braff on The Tonight Show

This guy (Zach Braff) is pretty much 12 years old in this interview. It's kind of amazing, while also hilarious at the same time. And boy...I want to watch reality tv with him. haha

May Sweeps Stunt #1

Tonight it was...

How I Met Your Mother

Sweeps Stunt #1...

Bob Barker.
He's retiring and he's just so hot right now.
Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris) is convinced that Bob Barker is his biological father. He decides its time to tell reunite with his father on nationally syndicated television and practices TPIR endlessly to achieve the perfect game. Hilarity ensues...but no mothers are found...yet

I like that this turned into a youtube blog

I've been trying to find this clip...for a while.

And I found it. If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm soo...SCARED" then just watch. Watch and enjoy. This one clip manages to tie up pretty much the whole storyline in about 6 minutes. Love it.

I weap

So I fell in love with a particular portrayal of Buzz Lightyear, on a particularly hilarious legal show...

Craig Bierko used to play the incomperable Jeffery Coho on Boston Legal.

But I'll assume you knew that already.
This guy was awesome. He'd do anything. He had a fist fight over Denise with another one of the characters on the show, Brad. These two were having tiffs and scoffs long before Denise came into the picture. Ever since Jeffery Coho showed up, him and Brad have been fighting like two coyotes over a piece of meat.

Eventually, Denise came up with the idea of being "friends with benefits" with both of them. Telling each one, "It's over if anyone finds out."

But no one had to find out because Alan Shore, play by the creepy-but-sexy? James Spader...and he's extra creepy, let me just put it that way...anyway...Alan Shore finds out. This is the weird part...he doesn't find out because someone told him or because he finds anyone in the act. He actually SMELLS it on Denise. He SMELLS both Brad and Jeffery on her. Can we get an "Ewww"?

But regardless...

Denise finds herself pregnant. Opps.

And after some tension and a sit down with all three parties present, she tells the boys what they may be in for. She discloses everything.

Again...ew.

She insists that she wants to know who the father is and swabs both of them.

Tension, tension, tension...

and the winner is.......
Brad.

We learn that Jeffery really kind of wanted that baby to be his. And this is the part where I wait for Denise to turn around and say...JUST KIDDING! It's really yours, Jeffery! But no...oh no...poor Jeffery's had his heart broken.

He starts talking about his daughter. (he had a daughter?!) and how he wanted to spend actual time with this kid, and blah blah blah...oh so sweet. (I'm a sucker)

And he explains to Shirley (THE Murphy Brown herself, Candice Bergen) that he needs to leave Crane, Poole and Schmidt for a lesser and less busy practice.

Teary moment with Shirley Schimdt and then it's off to the races.

Except....uhh...that Buzz Lightyear costume won't come off...opps.

And he leaves with it on. Classic.

The end.

The true story is that Craig Bierko, yes, the actor that turned down the role of Chandler, is trying his hand at Sitcoms yet again. He's staring in the new Fox comedy "The Rules for Starting Over" as a newly single 30-something guy. I'll be watching if it gets picked up. I do hope so.

But I'm still sad...b/c Craig Bierko will no longer be gracing my TV screen. Well...at least not for half a year.

    Socks, Campus Ladies and Lawyers

    What I watched tonight

  • No Direction Home: Bob Dylan Documentary...well, we fast forwarded through the middle of it. Research for Video Workshop.
  • American Idol...the last 15 minutes or so. I probably only saw the people they were hyping up for the first 45 minutes of the show.
  • Boston Legal...always hilarious, and for some reason, I love Craig Bierko. I don't understand exactly why...but he's awesome.
  • Campus Ladies...meh...i wasn't as amused as I thought i would be. Maybe it was just too hyped by Court. Maybe I didn't see the right episode. I did see Rob Riddle(?) though. He's good.
  • Fashion Police: Golden Globes. Even though I didn't actually watch the Golden Globes, it's good to catch up for the Fashionista in me.

I knit a lot tonight. I finished one of Courtney's socks though...and I kind of love it. I love the color work I've done. I'm just proud of it. I think I've come a long way from the crazy-ridiculous sweater I made for Amanda forever and a day ago. For now, I like the more instant gratification something small like socks (although there are two to make which can be troublesome), scarves, headbands and hats.

It's kind of special...me and my knitting. I'm realizing that I haven't really learned how to practice at anything. I want to learn so many things, but I have little to no drive to actually practice them. I want to learn how to play guitar better, but I don't push myself to practice. I want to sing better, but I don't practice. I'm not studying any of those things. But maybe it's a good thing, because what I am practicing right now is how to be a student. I am good at that, as my grades from the past semester show. I can handle that responsibility.

I'm hoping that I can learn to practice more. I need to not focus on the instant gratification anymore. I'm taking more interest in knitting gauges. For you non-knitters, gauges help you determine sizing, finding out how many stitches you knit per inch is important in deciding how many stitches you need to make a whole hat that will fit a 24 inch head, or to fit around a sweater or something like that. It's very important for sweaters and other tops. I just need to do a little better at the practicing part, outside of knitting or school.

I really want to learn guitar, but I'm not going to get any better if I continue to only pick it up once every 3 months. I should ask Rebecca about her practicing strategies. She's a piano major, she's got lots and lots of practicing to do, maybe she can help a little. I think I just don't know how to approach it all. Hopefully, she can help me come up with a plan.

    We'll see.

    Thursday TV

    What I watched tonight

    • Scrubs in Syndication...probably 4 episodes-ish
    • The Office
    • Grey's Anatomy
    • Little Miss Sunshine

Thursday night TV is the best. Period. I wish I could watch it all at once.

I also adore that Scrubs is in syndication now, it makes late-night TV and mid-day TV much better. ;)

oh dear...get off the couch, I've got to go for a walk now.
