Best Shortbread Cookies EVER.
These are best made in the month of December. In large double or triple batches, and decorated w/ Oma's AWESOME Royal Icing.
Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup of Icing (Confectioners/Powdered) Sugar
1 Whole Egg
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (or other extract of your choice, Lemon and Peppermint are tested alternatives)
4 cups flour (with another 1/2 cup standing by for rolling out the dough)
Mix all ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until edges start becoming golden brown.
Allow to cool before decorating.
Oma's Royal Icing:
1 lb (one full bag) of Icing/Confectioners/Powdered Sugar
2 Egg Whites
1/4 cup water (standing by to add if needed)
(optional: food coloring, sprinkles/jimmies)
